PROGRAM PURPOSE

This program prepares students for a variety of classroom situations in English as a Second Language (ESL), English as a Foreign Language (EFL), and English for Specific Purposes (ESP) settings. It is committed to providing a broad knowledge base in humanities, sciences, social sciences, and languages. It also aims to improve students’ basic knowledge and skills in applied linguistics, literature, communications, interpretation, and translation. More importantly, it builds the students’ competence in English teaching, curriculum development, assessment and evaluation.

GRADUATE COMPETENCIES

Graduates of this program will be:

  1. well-informed about applied linguistics and teaching methodology
  2. confident and competent in exercising the full range of pedagogical skills
  3. able to apply their general knowledge and teaching skills in practical contexts, especially within Cambodia
