The Power of Press

“Do not play it, but use it for the purpose of knowledge and information.” This was the advice given by H.E Chhang Song, the former Minister of Information in the 70s, during his January 3rd, 2015 speech on the topic of The power of Press.

PUC had the great honor to invite His Excellency, a well-known journalist, to share his knowledge and experience in the press, and also, to present him with a certificate of recognition for his work to promote awareness of Cambodia among the American public and international community between the years 1975 and 1989. H.E Chhang Song presented a noted report on the state of Cambodia to the United States Senate Foreign Relations Committee of on East Asia and Pacific Affairs.

According to His Excellency, credibility is what every journalist must bear in mind. Good journalism holds communities together and makes a different somewhere every day.

According to The News Manual, a professional resource for journalists and the media, journalists are a profession of men and women who find and present information, events, or issues relative to the public through newspapers, magazines, radio, television or the internet.
