MASTER’S DEGREE OF EDUCATION (M.Ed.)
IN EDUCATIONAL ADMINISTRATION AND LEADERSHIP (EAL)

PROGRAM PURPOSE

This program is designed to cultivate wise and professional leaders and managers whose primary role in education is to develop human generations capable of facing complex challenges in the emerging knowledge society. These future educational leaders and managers will be equipped with knowledge and skills required for effective leadership and management of educational institutions. The program is committed to constructing a broad knowledge and skill base in the following areas: educational psychology and sociology, moral education, educational leadership and management theories and practices, instructional leadership, educational entrepreneurship, curriculum development, human resource management, student services, educational technology, learning and assessment, faculty supervision and evaluation, and educational research.

GRADUATE COMPETENCIES

Graduates of this program will be:

  1. well-informed about contemporary theories and practices in educational leadership and management;
  2. confident and competent in exercising the full range of knowledge and skills in academic leadership and the management of human, material, informational, technological, and temporal resources;
  3. able to effectively apply their knowledge and skills in various educational settings;
  4. able to develop effective work action plans;
  5. equipped to engage in critical thinking and problem-solving in their professional field; and
  6. committed to their continuing professional development, to the welfare of their students, and to the development of an advanced society.

CAREER PROSPECTS

Students and graduates of the program will be able to work in educational administration or management positions, such as school principals, curriculum designers, academic administrators, school human resource managers, teaching supervisors, directors of student affairs and services, university instructors, educational consultants, and international research assistants.
