Phnom Penh – A delegation from Curtin University, a leading Australian institution, met with representatives from Paññāsāstra University of Cambodia (PUC) on May 29, 2025, at the PUC campus to explore potential areas of cooperation. Discussions centered on establishing a formal Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and related agreements aimed at fostering academic exchange and research initiatives between the two universities.

The meeting primarily focused on collaborative opportunities spanning student and staff exchanges, study visits for faculty and students, joint research projects, and the potential development of a dual degree program. Both institutions also expressed interest in jointly publishing academic journals, enhancing the visibility and impact of research conducted by faculty at both universities.

The discussions are viewed as a preliminary step toward formalizing a partnership that could significantly benefit both PUC and Curtin University. A formal MoU would likely outline the specific parameters and expectations for each area of collaboration, facilitating the implementation of the discussed initiatives.

By fostering collaborations in research, education, and publication, PUC and Curtin University aim to strengthen their respective academic profiles and provide expanded opportunities for their students and faculty. Further discussions and the development of concrete proposals are anticipated in the coming months.
