PROGRAM PURPOSE 

The Ph.D. program in Educational Innovation and Technology at the Graduate School of Education of Paññāsāstra University of Cambodia aims to prepare scholar to advance knowledge and research in educational technology, fostering innovative curriculum design and instruction, assessment, technology and research competences. Graduate will develop expertise in designing and implementing technology enhanced instruction, and assessment, while addressing ethical, inclusive, and equitable educational practices. Graduates will value collaboration, build professional network, and contribute to educational research through innovative studies and publications. In addition, program participants will carry out research using advanced research methodologies with supervision of experienced qualified scholarly researchers.

The 57 credit Ph.D. in Educational Innovation and Technology program requires 24 coursework credits + 33 research credits.

Admission Requirements

Applicants seeking admission to the Ph.D. program in Educational Innovation and Technology must hold a master’s degree from an accredited institution.

A.1. Required documents to be submitted to Department of Academic Affairs (DAA)

  • A PUC application form + three photos (4x6)
  • Two certified copies of master’s degree
  • A master’s degree transcript with cumulative GPA of at least 3.00 on a 4-point scale
  • A certified copy of bachelor’s degree
  • A copy of bachelor’s degree transcript
  • A certificate or transcript showing computer skills
  • An updated CV
  • Two recommendation letters from professors (form provided by the Faculty of Education)
  • A recommendation letter from an immediate work supervisor (form provided by the Faculty of Education)
  • A research sample (e.g., master’s thesis, research report, course research paper)
  • An initial research proposal (concept note) that clearly indicates a topic and focus, problem statement, research questions, significance of the study, research methods, and time frame (guidelines provided by the Faculty of Education)
  • A personal statement (essay) explaining the reason(s) for pursuing this Ph.D. program (guidelines provided by the Faculty of Education)

A.2. PUC Graduate Admission Test (PUC-GAT)

Applicants must earn a passing score on the PUC-GAT test.  However, the PUC-GAT can be waived on one of the following conditions:

  1. The applicant holds a master’s degree from PUC, or
  2. The applicant holds an international English proficiency test report with the following score or higher:

- Paper-Based TOEFL (PBT)                         550

- TOEIC (TOEIC Bridge is NOT accepted.)  690

A.3. Interview
