The databases listed below contain full text resources, some with limited access. Within these databases, text can be searched to retrieve relevant articles, which can then be downloaded or printed out.

 

 

AGORA – Access to Global Online Research in Agriculture

The AGORA program, set up by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN (FAO) together with major publishers, enables developing countries to gain access to an outstanding digital library collection in the fields of food, agriculture, environmental science and related social sciences. AGORA provides a collection of 913 journals to institutions in 69 countries. AGORA is designed to enhance the scholarship of the many thousands of students, faculty and researchers in agriculture and life sciences in the developing world.

BioMed Central

BioMed Central is a publisher of more than 170 peer-reviewed, open access, journals, in biomedical research.

 

BioOne

BioOne provides a unique aggregation of high-impact bioscience research journals, featuring timely content on a wide-array of today's most pressing topics, including global warming, stem cell research, and ecological and biodiversity conservation.

Cambridge Journals Online

In line with the commitment of Cambridge University Press to advance learning, knowledge and research worldwide, the Press currently publishes over 220 peer-reviewed academic journals for the global market. Containing the latest research from a broad sweep of subject areas, Cambridge journals are accessible worldwide in print and online.

Digital Research Materials – Massachusetts Institute of Technology

MIT's online institutional repository - built to save, share, and search MIT's digital research materials.

 

EBSCO

EBSCO is a worldwide leader in providing information access through print and electronic journal subscription services, research database development and production, online access to more than 150 databases and thousands of e-journals.

HighWire Press

A division of the Stanford University Libraries, HighWire Press hosts the largest repository of peer-reviewed content, with 999 journals and 3,792,304 full text articles from over 130 scholarly publishers.

 

HINARI – Health InterNetwork Access to Research Initiative

The HINARI program, set up by WHO together with major publishers, enables developing countries to gain access to one of the world's largest collections of biomedical and health literature. Over 3421 journal titles are now available to health institutions in 113 countries, benefiting many thousands of health workers and researchers, and in turn, contributing to improved world health.

IDEAS - Internet Documents in Economics Access Service

The largest bibliographic database dedicated to Economics, freely available on the Internet. Over 450,000 items of research can be browsed or searched, and over 350,000 can be downloaded in full text. Uses the RePEc (Research Papers in Economics) database.

 

 

OARE – Online Access to Research in the Environment

OARE is an international public-private consortium coordinated by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), Yale University, and leading science and technology publishers, enables developing countries to gain free access to one of the world's largest collections of environmental science literature.

Over one thousand scientific journal titles providing research in a wide range of disciplines, including biotechnology, botany, climate change, ecology, energy, environmental chemistry, environmental economics, environmental engineering and planning, environmental law and policy, environmental toxicology and pollution, geography, geology, hydrology, meteorology, oceanography, urban planning, zoology, and many others.

OECD iLibrary

OECD iLibrary is OECD's Online Library for Books, Papers and Statistics and the gateway to OECD's analysis and data. It replaces SourceOECD, and hosts all content so users can find - and cite - tables and databases as easily as articles or chapters.

WAICENT – World Agricultural Information Centre of FAO

The FAO provides access to information on agriculture, forestry, fisheries, sustainable rural development, economics, food and nutrition. The FAO WAICENT portal is a tool used to navigate and access this high-quality technical information, which includes relevant and reliable statistics, texts, maps and multimedia resources.
