The Faculty of Communications and Media Arts brought together the three advertising industry experts in Cambodia thru a Lecture Series in Advertising held June to August, 2016 aimed at contributing to the student’s knowledge in advertising from the perspectives of real industry players. Speakers include: Ting Bongco, Business Director of Phibious Advertising; Nou Vichet, Creative Director of Kouprey Creative Solutions and Ciaran Doyle of Digital Khmer.

Well attended by FCMA students, the Lecture Series in Advertising was held in three separate consecutive sessions from June to August. Each month features a Guest Speaker specializing in one topic. Ting Bongco who specializes in Marketing Communications delivers a comprehensive lecture on the components of IMC and its process(June, 2016). Prior to joining Phibious Cambodia, Ting Bongco has previously worked with McCann Worldgroup, Publicis, and TBWA/Santiago Mangada Puno in the Philippines. Nou Vichet gave insights in generating creative ideas(July, 2016). Vichet has humble beginnings from freelance graphic artist to creative director. He is known for his minimalist corporate identity designs for clients Thalias Group, Arunreas Hotel, Chillin’Cafe etc. Ciaran Doyle gave a very informative lecture on Digital Advertising, Content Marketing and Mobile Advertising last August, 2016. Ciaran is a digital marketing strategist, having spent more than 12 years working in fields of viral marketing to Search Engine Optimization, paid media, and Branded Content. This includes setting up Marketing systems and traffic generation campaigns, including all levels of social media marketing. He has worked for some of the biggest brands in the world (Thai Airways, Direct Line Insurance, Dove).

The event is part of FCMA’s mission to establish a link between the industry and academe. FCMA continues to uphold its philosophy of bringing theory into practice. “We hope to have more of this Lecture Series, not just in Advertising but in Film and Journalism as well. Students can learn more when they listen to stories from industry people...stories that are based from their experiences. Its more inspiring,” Assistant Dean of FCMA Lorena Banares said.
