PUC founding father, Dr. Kol Pheng, his wife, Mrs. Kol Kim Phalla, and his family, recently celebrated an important Buddhist ceremony at their home in Kandal province.

The program consisted of a talk on Buddhism, and offerings of food, drink and other provisions to 108 monks. In addition, gratitude was paid to mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, and 5 Buddha statues were officially consecrated.

Almost a thousand Buddhists, including PUC students, professors, faculty members, elders, and monks attended the event. An unidentified guest remarked that it was his first visit to Dr. Kol’s house. He had heard about Dr. Kol’s good acts toward the needy and society regardless of political affiliations. “I am very proud of Dr. Kol Pheng. I have read a few books by him and seen a few clips of his videos. All are about Buddhism. I noted that he is a great person to follow.”

An unidentified 53 year-old woman holding her offering of food for the assembly of monks exclaimed, “I have been to quite a lot of Buddhism ceremonies. I love to attend Buddhist rites; especially in the presence of Venerable San Sochea and Buddhism professor, But Savong.”

After the ceremony ended, the house was opened for a public visit, especially by the students and Buddhists.
