Four delegates from Xi’an University, China recently visited Paññāsāstra University of Cambodia (PUC) to renew a Memorandum of Understanding which has been in place since July 2012.

With this MOU, the parties agree to promote education, culture and research. It has been three years since the first cooperative agreement was signed, and with this renewal, the two institutions intend to create language centers to actively facilitate this work.

There will be a Chinese language center at PUC, teaching Chinese language, Chinese culture, and Chinese business practices. A PUC language center will likewise be created at Xi’an University to teach English, Khmer and Cambodian culture.

Dr. Kol Pheng, PUC President, admired the Chinese for their business acumen, saying that the Chinese center at PUC will be an important benefit to Cambodian students.
