Chinese Government Scholarship

A full scholarship provided by the Chinese government to support outstanding international students for graduate studies in Guizhou University (GZU).
Program Categories, Duration and Language of Instruction

a. This scholarship only supports graduate (master’s and doctoral) programs. Scholarship duration is 3 years for master’s programs and 4 years for doctoral programs.

b. The teaching language is Chinese. Candidates without required Chinese language proficiency must take a 1-year elementary Chinese language study and pass the required test before entering major study. The scholarship duration covers both major study and Chinese language study.

Eligibility
To be eligible, applicants must:

  • be a non-Chinese citizen in good health;
  • not be a registered student who is studying in China;
  • be a bachelor’s degree holder under the age of 35 when applying for
  • be a master’s degree holder under the age of 40 when applying for master’s programs; doctoral programs.

Scholarship Coverage

  • a waiver of fee for registration, tuition, and basic textbooks;
  • free on-campus dormitory accommodation;
  • monthly living allowance (CNY 3,500 for doctoral students and CYN
  • outpatient medical service and Comprehensive Medical Insurance

Application Procedure

1. Applicants must finish the online application in CSC Online Application System for International Students at www.csc.edu.cn/laihua or www.campuschina.org. Click Application Online, set up an account, complete the required information accurately (Agency NO. of GZU is 10657), submit the Application Form and print a hard copy.

2. After successful application online, submit a package of complete application documents (two copies for each document) to GZU through express mail before the deadline. The documents shall include:
3,000 for master’s students);

  • Application Form for Chinese Government Scholarship (in Chinese or English)
  • Valid passport photocopy
  • Notarized highest diploma photocopy (Prospective diploma winners must submit Student Status Certificate by their current school)
  • Academic transcripts
  • A Study Plan or Research Proposal with a minimum of 800 words
  • Two letters of recommendation by professors or associate professors
  • A photocopy of the Foreigner Physical Examination Form completed in English (the original copy and attached reports should be carefully kept by
  • the applicant. The form can be downloaded from http://www.csc.edu.cn/laihua/dlen.aspx)
  • Applicants with valid HSK Certificate should enclose it in the application package

Note: All the documents should be provided in English or Chinese. Diplomas and transcripts in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized English or Chinese translations.

3. Mail the application package to GZU at the address below:

GZU will contact the final scholarship winners in July and mail the enrollment documents.
