An opportunity for a young Cambodian woman to visit Japan
Would you like to receive an all-expenses-paid two-week trip to Kobe, Japan in December 2007, including homestay with Japanese students, sightseeing in Kobe and participation in the annual University Speech Contest and Christmas celebrations?
If you:

are a woman aged between 17 and 22
-
have never traveled outside Cambodia
-
can speak and write some English
-
are interested in spending two weeks in Kobe, Japan, as a guest of the faculty and students of Kobe Shoin Women's University and College, Department of English Language Communication
-
would be pleased to talk about Cambodia, in English, to students and staff of the University
-
would like to be considered for this opportunity
Please write approximately 1000 words on the following topic:
Is there a place for educated women in
Cambodian society today?
Show how your education brings both benefits and problems to you
in the professional world.

Essays must be typed, double-spaced on A4 paper

Pages should be secured with a paper clip but NOT stapled

Write your name on every page

The essay must be at least 800 words long and no more than 1,200.

The work must be original and should include personal examples and experience

If you use outside sources (books, newspapers, internet) you must give references

Only in exceptional circumstances will essays be accepted by e-mail
