During this seminar, participants will have the opportunity to review the basic elements of financial and marketing strategies, focusing on businesses considering expansion into global markets. Through lecture discussions and applied case studies, participants will gain insights into Western business practices and expectations when dealing with foreign vendors and partners.
Coverage of seminar topics will highlight common managerial decisions faced by entrepreneurs/managers in both the attainment and use of financial capital, and also to the efficient communication to customer markets about the firm’s product and/or service offerings.
Cost
The cost of this 4-day intensive seminar, for each participant, including materials, is:
Local NGO $250.
INGO, international agencies, business enterprises $295.
Special discount for more than one participant from the same organization. The number of participants is limited to 15 in order to facilitate interaction and sharing of experience. Certificates will be delivered at the end of the seminar. Tuition includes course materials, refreshments, and luncheons.
Application Process
Instruction will be in English and participants are expected to be able to understand and write English at an advanced level.

Training Leaders
Thomas L. Ainscough, MBA, Ph.D., is Associate Professor of Business Administration at the University of South Florida St. Petersburg, Florida, USA. He received a Ph.D. in Business Administration from the University of Georgia with a major in Marketing and a minor in Information Systems. In addition, he holds a Master's Degree in Business Administration and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Marketing. He has published articles in Marketing Letters, The Journal of Business Ethics, The Journal of Macromarketing, The Journal of Marketing Education, The Journal of Travel and Tourism Marketing, The Journal of Consumer Marketing, The Journal of Services Marketing, The Journal of Financial Services Marketing, and The Journal of Retailing and Consumer Services, among others. He has also been a speaker at numerous international conferences. Dr. Ainscough has been a tenured professor at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, where he received the college’s Teacher of the Year award, and a Visiting Scholar at the College of William and Mary.
Todd M. Shank, Ph.D. is Associate Professor of Finance at the University of South Florida in St. Petersburg, Florida, USA. He recently served as a Fulbright Lecturer in China (during the Spring, 2003 semester), where he taught corporate financial management in the graduate school at Sun Yat-sen University in Guangzhou. Dr. Shank formerly worked for the U.S. Treasury Department’s Office of Comptroller of the Currency as a banking regulator and has been teaching, consulting, and writing for 25 years. During that time, he has served on the faculties of four universities, published two textbooks and twenty academic articles in journals including the Journal of Business Ethics, Global Business and Finance Review, Journal of Foreign Exchange and International Finance, and the Journal of Investing, among others. He is currently involved in a research study of corporate governance in Asia. Dr Shank received numerous teaching awards while serving as Associate Dean and Professor of Finance at the University of Portland in Portland, Oregon, including the University’s Teacher of the Year and the Pamplin School of Business’s Best Graduate Professor honors. |
