PHNOM PENH (January 13): Student teams from Pannasastra University of Cambodia (PUC) will showcase their entrepreneurial talents this coming Friday, January 15 at the school’s first ever Business Plan Competition.
The one day event, which is being co-sponsored by ANZ Royal Bank, is the culmination of three months preparation by six teams of outstanding PUC students majoring in business, finance, marketing, human resource management, and business communications.
Each team, composed of three students, will present a plan for a fictional business venture to a group of faculty judges, who will evaluate their proposals based on various factors, including business viability, business structure, management, and marketing potential.
According to Eng Kimsan, Professor of Business at PUC, the competition aims to encourage students to apply theory to practice in business development and management, develop student skills in entrepreneurship and leadership, enhance confidence and proactive skills in small and medium business development, and promote teamwork.
“We believe this event will help promote student interest in small and medium enterprise (SME) development, and contribute to capacity development of our future business leaders and entrepreneurs in Cambodia, “ said Eng Kimsan.
The competition will take place from 8:00 am to 3:30 pm at Meeting Room B (2nd floor) on the Pannasastra University South Campus, No. 184 Norodom Boulevard, in Phnom Penh. The public is invited to attend.
An awards ceremony will follow at 4:00 pm.
