Text Box: 	Moreover, the PUCLC has allocated money from some of its general fund from OSJI to fund a class on “Genocide and Crimes Against Humanity” for both law and non-law students, taught by Prof. Stan Starygin.  In this class the students have learned about genocide and Crimes Against Humanity (CAH), international legal development and theory as well as its application in other international tribunals. Students were assigned to put on a conference about the Khmer Rouge Tribunal.  Students researched for their preparation of the conference which was at the end of the  term and was to be used as a class evaluation measure. The subjects that they researched were primarily “Evidence and KRT.” Basically, the assignment was to find about the rules of evidence as found in International and Cambodian laws  which amount to the “intentional” standard. 	The Pańńāsāstra University Legal Clinic (PUCLC), a part of Pańńāsāstra University of Cambodia, in conjunction with the Cambodia Justice Initiative (CJI),  which is a project of the two international organizations Bridges Across Borders (BAB) and the Open Society Justice Initiative (OSJI), have held a series of Khmer Rouge Tribunal (KRT) related conferences in order to raise the awareness of the KRT.  These conferences are  not only for academics, but also the public, in order to spread information about genocide in Cambodia,  and other issues surrounding the establishment and proceedings of the KRT.  International experts share their expertise from other international tribunals, including those stemming from International Law violations in Rwanda, East Timor, the former Yugoslavia and Sierra Leone.

The students did a great job on presenting their finding and some issues of application of rules of evidence for the Khmer Rouge Tribunal and evidence preservation for the day of the tribunal. Southeast Asia Clinical Legal Education Conference

This Conference will be held in Phnom Penh, Cambodia at Pańńāsāstra University of Cambodia, South Campus, on 27 November 2005 and at The Phnom Penh Hotel from 28-29 November 2005.International and national participants from countries including Afganistan, Banladesh, Cambodia, Canada, Chinca, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Mongolia, the Philipines, Singapore, South Africa, Thailand, and Vietnam will be in attendance. The Confererence will highlight the major developments and challenges of Program as well as give participants the opportunity to share with each other their desire and efforts to establish clinical legal education programs at universtities in their countries and their experiences in running such programs.
